A free Comedy Night for people affected by cancer with a performance by comedian Jack Mayberry will be heldMonday, July 13, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village. The monthly Comedy Night series is made possible by funds raised at the Stand Up for Cancer Survivors fundraiser held in 2008. Jack Mayberry made 22 appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.His credits also include The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Evening at the Improv on A&E, Comic Strip Live on Fox and many others. He is a nationally touring headliner who has opened for Rodney Dangerfield, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, and more. He is best known for his “channeling” of Ross Perot.
Founded in 1982, The Wellness Community is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones at over 100 locations worldwide including 24 U.S.-based and 2 international centers with 73 satellite and off-site programs. Through participation in professionally-led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, and stress-reduction classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease.
