The March of Dimes' mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.

 March for Babies (formerly known as WalkAmerica) is March of Dimes biggest fundraiser and continues to build on decades of success. As the first and best walking event in the nation, hundreds of thousands of volunteers participate to raise funds that go towards research, education, and programs that help give every baby a healthy start. The event has raised over $1.5 billion in its 41 year history.  Our 2010 Simi Valley/Ventura Walk will take place on May 15th at Rancho Tapo Community Park.
